We hope to make this an annual women's cycling event and an important fundraising event for women's charities.
A fantastic cycling event totally for women and raising funds for women's charities on Sunday August 31, 2014 at The Goodwood Motor Circuit, West Sussex.
We've been lucky enough to join forces with British Cycling and have been able to book the fantastic motor circuit for this event - the Grand Prix is the first of its kind in the area offering competitive and non-competitive events together!
Our chosen charity for the event is Boot Out Breast Cancer - www.bootoutbreastcancer.org.uk
We will be running a raffle on the day with all money raised going directly to Boot Out Breast Cancer
We will also have a Bra Bank at the event, so bring along any unloved bras (new or used) and donate them - here's the link for further details:
Also, checkout the Chichester branch of Waitrose throughout July as this event is one of their chosen Community Matters, their way of giving something back to the local area. We are thrilled to have been chosen. So grab a green token and drop in the Biking Belles box!
Thank you to everyone who 'grabbed a green token' at Chichester Waitrose - we're delighted to say we raised £450 from these tokens !
Our thanks goes to the Community Matters at the Chichester branch of Waitrose for choosing our event Biking Belles Grand Prix and our chosen charity for 2014 - Boot Out Breast Cancer, to support during July 2014. Out thanks also to all those customers who chose to support our event with a green token. The cheque was collected from Waitrose on 26/8/14
As it's just two weeks before the Goodwood Revival meeting we are creating a Vintage area within the Paddocks, so come along, take a look and perhaps make that special purchase - this is not just a women's cycling event but a Women's Event
One of the prizes donated by Hargroves Cycles in Chichester
For all entries and your shopping purchases please bring along cash or cheques as credit cards will not be accepted, unfortunately.
The day starts at 8am with:
*Three sportives - 35 / 50 and 70 miles. All participants cycle one lap of the circuit (2.4 miles) then leave to complete their chosen sportives.
Costs: £20 to enter before the event, the fee rises to £25 on the day.
* At approx 10am once the sportive cyclists leave the circuit the general public (women only) will have the chance to cycle around the cicuit until noon. £10 to enter.
* 2pm - 4pm is the start of the elite national womens racing - pleased to announce that British Cycling have confirmed the prize money for the Elite racing, as follows:
Elite 1/2 race - 1st - £200, 2nd £100 and 3rd £50
Cat 3/4 race - 1st £80, 2nd £50 and 3rd £20
All the above will receive GP medals, trophies and GP goody bags
